Food poisoning at a company canteen in northeast China's Liaoning Province landed 60 employees in hospital Thursday, Xinhua has learned.
Most of the patients suffered vomiting and nausea after lunch, said an employee at a Shenzhen Upcera Co. Ltd. plant in Benxi City.
Yu and her colleagues felt sick at 2 p.m. and were sent to hospital around 4 p.m., when their conditions worsened.
She said she was given oxygen and intravenous glucose.
Sources with the hospital said most patients were stable, and some had been allowed to go home.
Undercooked kidney beans served during lunch were believed to be the cause of the poisoning, according to the company's deputy general manager Zhang Junfeng.
An investigation is underway.
