Syria and Iran on Saturday reviewed means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in health filed. During a meeting between Health Minister Wa'el al-Halaqi and Iranian Counterpart , Marziyeh Dastjerdi in Tehran, both sides discussed the exchange of expertise to ensure the requirements of the Syrian health sector in the areas of pharmaceutical industries. Al-Halaqi referred to the state of health sector in Syria under the plot it is currently facing and the unjust sanctions imposed on the health sector in Syria. He pointed out to the Ministry's desire to benefit from Iranian expertise in the field of liver and bone marrow transplantation. The Minister reviewed the possibility of granting easy loans to finance and equip certain hospitals of the ministry with the needed equipment. For her part, the Iranian Minister expressed readiness of Iran and Ministry of Health to extend various types of medical aid to the health sector in Syria.
