
Minister of Health Adel Adawi takes part Sunday in the 61st session of the World Health Organization ((WHO) for east Mediterranean in the Tunisian city of Carthage.
The minister stressed, in pre-departure statements, the importance of drawing up a comprehensive strategy for the east Mediterranean region to deal with the challenges it is facing.
He said he will discuss with the participants the latest developments on applying international health regulations and the impact of climate change on public health.
Adawi also said he will discuss issues related to smoking, the health of mother and child as well as the issue of tobacco trafficking and eradication of polio in the east Mediterranean area.
