
Health ministry officials said Iran has made very good progress in pharmaceutical and medical equipment production sector, and voiced Tehran's readiness to share its experiences with Lebanon. Iranian Health Minister's Advisor for international affairs Mohammad Hossein Niknam, who heads a high-ranking health delegation, arrived in Beirut on Monday to further promote health cooperation with Lebanon. Iranian pharmaceutical companies are represented among the Iranian delegation. Speaking at a meeting with Lebanese deputy health minister and other high-ranking officials of the Lebanese ministry, Niknam underscored Iran's high capacity and capability to supply pharmaceutical products to Lebanon. He further voiced Iran's readiness to provide Lebanon with high-quality medicines, and meantime, praised Lebanese Health Ministry's move to register Iranian brands of the pharmaceutical products. In the meeting, the two sides discussed joint projects to produce medicines, export of medical equipment from Iran to Lebanon and bilateral cooperation on health tourism. Iran and Lebanon enjoy cordial relations and have further expanded these ties in recent years. The two sides have exchanged several delegations of high-ranking officials in the last three years.
