The number of birth certificates issued for illegal residents (Bedoun) has increased to 15,873 from the period of April 2011 to September 2012, senior official at the Health Ministry said on Saturday. The number of death certificates, meanwhile, has risen to 978 during the same period, Director of the Central Registry of Birth and Death Department at the Ministry of Health, Rashed Al-Azmi, told KUNA. The Ministry will continue issuing birth and death certificates for Bedoun as an implementation of the Cabinet decision no. 409 for the year 2011 that stipulates granting some facilitations for this segment of the society. The total number of birth certificates issued in the past three months has has reached 1,326. Death certificates issued from July to September, meanwhile, amounted to 78. Al-Azmi pointed out that the smooth process of issuing these documents is due to the ongoing cooperation between the Health Ministry and the Central Agency for Illegal Residents.
