Kuwait's Health Minister Dr. Ali Al-Obaidi said on Monday that Kuwait's membership of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the period 2014-2017 is of high importance on Kuwaiti, Gulf and Arab levels. Kuwait's membership of the WHO's executive board coincides with its presidency of the executive office of the Council of Arab Health Ministers, as well as the executive office of the Council of GCC Health Ministers, Minister Al-Obaidi stated to KUNA, following his participation in the WHO's Executive Board's 135th session. The Kuwaiti minister also added that the Executive Board's membership will make Kuwait an effective partner in setting out the agendas of WHO's annual meetings, and discussing all recommendations and reports it receives via WHO's various committees from its regional and international meetings. Kuwait will have a major role at WHO in the upcoming years, Al-Obaidi expected, adding that WHO's membership is a trust that Kuwait will carry to attain the ambitions of those who supported its membership at the executive board. Every citizen and resident of Kuwait will notice Kuwait's success during the next stage, he said
