
Minister of Health Ali Al-Obaidi said Monday that health cooperation between Kuwait and Turkey will be fruitful, particularly in training of medical staff and joint investment in healthcare.Speaking to KUNA upon his arrival here heading a delegation, Al-Obaidi said his ministry is keen on bolstering the friendly ties with Turkey.The goal of the visit was also to develop the health system in order to meet the challenges facing the public health sector, particularly dangerous and chronic diseases."Health systems of our two countries seek to overcome challenges such as the increase of smoking, nutrition, unhealthy and physical inactivity," Al-Obaidi said, adding "habits that led to a significant increase in diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, and blood circulation, diabetes and respiratory diseases. The minister added the spread of chronic diseases led to the increasing burden on health system, as well as exhausted plans and health programs and development plans, calling for raising public awareness to the dangers of unhealthy habits.
