Kuwaiti students who study in the United States, currently visiting home, should get flu vaccination before returning to the U.S. where the disease is spreading, said the Director of the Kuwait Cultural Office in Washington. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Omar, in a statement to KUNA late on Friday, said for safety and health of the students, and in light of wide spread of the flu virus across the U.S., students should get vaccinated in Kuwait from the flu. He also called on the Kuwaiti students in the U.S. to get the flu shots as soon as possible, noting that this is a health service that is fully covered by the health insurance provided to them. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the 2012-2013 influenza season started early this year and possibility of contracting it "remains high" in the U.S., saying "this may continue for some time."
