The EU is giving Morocco 126 million euros to finance health reforms that will make the same services available in every region, improve the poor's access to those services, and improve maternity, pediatric, and chronic disease care, Au Fait wrote. "The EU supports, financially and in other ways, Morocco's great health care reforms, undertaken beginning in 2001, and which will ensure equal, quality care to all Moroccan citizens," EU Ambassador Eneko Landaburu said. The Moroccan government has budgeted 12 billion dirhams (over 1 billion euros) for this far-reaching reform, which is based on the idea of the constitutional right to health care, of making it more democratic, and on making medicines and vaccines widely available.
