A new infection of H5N1 bird flu was reported in Sohag, south of Cairo, said a Health Ministry in a statement on Monday.
The man has been moved to a fever hospital after reportedly developing bird flu-like symptoms, said that statement.
As a precautionary measure, the Health Ministry said it distributed a health plan and set up isolation units at hospitals to prevent a possible bird flu outbreak.
The total number of deaths in Egypt from the H5N1 bird flu has reached seven this year.
