Qaliobiya on alert to face any seasonal flu case

Qaliobiya governorate took emergency measures to face up seasonal flu, the Health and Population Ministry undersecretary in Qaliobiya said.

In statements Thursday, Mohamed Lashin said only one seasonal flu case was detected, but the child is in stable condition at hospital.

On Wednesday, the Health Ministry denied news fanned by the media about the existence of five persons suffering from seasonal flu in North Sinai and the death of two cases.

The ministry said that there is only one case suffering from seasonal flu, adding that it is still receiving treatment.

It also urged the media to be accurate is carrying the news and not to use the term "swine flu", which spreads chaos as well as fear among the citizens.

Swine flu is now named seasonal flu according to the World Health Organization, the ministry underscored.
