The State of Qatar will participate in meeting of the GCC health promotion committee due to kick off tomorrow, Sunday in Muscat , Oman , and runs for two days. Director of Communication and Media Department at the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Jassim Fakhrou, who is also a member of the aforesaid committee , said the participants will discuss a wide-range of topics related to health awareness and health promotion in the cooperation council for the arab states of the gulf (GCC) member states and the rate of progress made so far in the field. Fakhrou made clear that the participants would also review progress made so far for carrying out the GCC campaign on how to boost awareness of non-communicable diseases following up execution of such a campaign in the GCC members . They will also discuss preparations for holding the 5th GCC conference to promote health and endorsing the unified or standardized GCC guide of the health promotion officials, Fakhrou said. The Director of Communication and Media Department further said that that he would report to the meeting on the GCC library of health awareness "specialist" and the progress made in this project, which came at the initiative of the State of Qatar and adopted by the 68th conference at its 35th session in Abu Dhabi earlier in February 2010.
