The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has announced that a Qatari citizen is suffering from a new type of coronal virus that infect the respiratory tract and usually cause colds or cold, which is curable in most cases without complications . The SCH denied reports the Qatari citizen suffers SARS. Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of Public Health at (SCH) the Qatari citizen had suffered from acute infect in the lungs, and had received treatment at Hamad General Hospital, and then was sent to London to complete the treatment there, where it was discovered that he was suffering from a new type of Coronal Virus . The British health authorities have informed the World Health Organization (WHO), which in turn has informed the Supreme Council of Health about this case .. He added that a similar case was detected with a Saudi citizen in London two months ago. On means that have been followed at Hamad Hospital in dealing with the virus, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Khal, consultant of infectious diseases at HMC said that all investigations have been made in all sections, especially in the intensive care unit to search for similar cases where no any such a case has been reported till now. He stressing that the doctors and specialists in infectious and respiratory diseases at HMC, whether for children or for adults are on a high degree of awareness and well informed about the situation. Dr. Khal added that the laboratory at Hamad Medical Corporation is ready to deal with samples of similar cases, and that there will be early finding of such cases.
