
Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched an urgent appeal to raise $ 3 million in cash ( QR10.95 million ) to support 40,000 persons ( 6,000 families ) affected in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip for six months.
QRCS said in a statement today that it allocated QR 2 million for emergency response, emergency needs, which include the provision of medical supplies and fuel for hospitals as well as QR 2 million from the Emergency Response Fund (ERF) for urgent intervention in the Gaza Strip in the areas of emergency.
QRCS condemned violations committed by Israeli occupying forces in the Gaza Strip ,which constitute abuses to the international humanitarian law ,all norms and international conventions relating to armed conflict and the protection of civilians , the statement added.
It also called on the international community to move and to take all measures to stop violations of Israeli occupying forces and its obstruction to the Humanitarian Services in Gaza .It said such practices are a clear violation of Article No. (63) of international humanitarian law of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which emphasizes to enable national Red Cross societies and Red Crescent to perform their humanitarian activities.
