Authorities in France issued a rabies warning after a cat died from the disease this week near Paris. The cat was found Oct. 25 in Argenteuil and died Monday from rabies, Radio France Internationale reported. Ten people who came into contact with the cat have been vaccinated for the disease as a precaution, France's Ministry of Agriculture. France was declared rabies-free in 2002 but that status was suspended for two years when a rabies-infected dog was brought to the country from Morocco and infected other dogs. There have been no human cases of rabies in mainland France since 1923.
