The Red Crescent Authority (RCA) of UAE has provided medical assistance worth over AED 2.2 million to the Palestinian Thalassemia patients in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Thalassemia Patients' Friends Society (TPFS) in the West Bank City of Al-Beerah has received the first shipment of medicines under the project. Dr. Bashar al-Karmi, Head of the TPFS expressed his thanks and appreciation to the RCA for funding the project, stressing the shipment would fulfill a big part of the patients' needs of Thalassemia medicines. Al Karmi also pointed out that last year no single case of Thalassemia was reported, wishing the RCA's medical aid would be a wide step towards curbing the disease.
