A total of 14 wounded refugees from southeast Ukraine are staying in hospitals in southern Russia, Deputy Health Minister Igor Kagramanyan said on Friday.
“Overall, 743 forced re-settlers, including 14 wounded persons, are under stationary medical treatment,” the deputy health minister told a meeting of the governmental commission for emergency situations.
Hospitalized Ukrainians include 448 children and 85 pregnant women, the deputy health minister said.
Over 6,300 Ukrainians, including more than 2,000 children have turned to doctors for treatment of various diseases, the deputy health minister said.
Earlier reports said that 227 refugee camps have been set up in Russian regions to accommodate Ukrainians fleeing the scene of fighting between Kiev’s military and local self-defense forces in south-eastern Ukraine. These centers are providing shelter to 16,630 Ukrainian refugees, including 7,000 children.
