
The Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that five out of nine persons, who contracted the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS or coronavirus) recently, died in the last 24 hours. The nine persons, five females and four males, tested positive for the fatal disease in Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah and Makkah, the Ministry said in a statement on its website. The new confirmed cases took to 529 the total number of infection cases since the outbreak of the disease in the Kingdom in 2012; the figure includes 168 fatalities, according to the statement
