
The Director-General of the Executive Board of GCC Health Ministers Dr. Tawfiq Khoja said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has eradicated coronavirus disease.
Dr. Khoja told the Bahrain-based Al-Watan newspaper that the Command-and-Control Centre has contributed in curbing coronavirus cases, eradicating this disease in Saudi Arabia and has also boosted the preparedness of the Saudi health system, especially the health services pertinent to prevention of the list of contagious diseases topped by Ebola. He added that Saudi Arabia wouldn't block Nigerian hajj pilgrims from performing the hajj pilgrimage however pilgrims from Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have been blocked.
He said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recruited 11,000 medics and experts from all specialisations from the GCC and advanced Islamic countries such as Malaysia. Also, the Kingdom has supplied the Health Ministry's Command-and-Control Centre with physicians, scientists, researchers, primary healthcare experts and plans to cope with emergency cases in order to boost the health security of hajj pilgrims and to ensure that the hajj season 1435H would be free from any epidemic or contagious diseases.
