
Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Thursday a new death case caused by coronavirus during the last 24 hours.
The ministry said a child, infected with the virus, had passed away in Riyadh. In a statement posted on its website, the ministry reported three cases in Riyadh, Holy Medina and Hafr Al-Baten.
However, the official statement said condition of the three men infected with the virus was stable. Three other previously reported cases, two women and a man in Jeddah, had recovered Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is viral respiratory illness first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012. It is caused by a coronavirus called MERS-CoV. Most people who have been confirmed to have MERS-CoV infection developed severe acute respiratory illness. They had fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
Number of persons infected with the virus in the Kingdom has reached 568 since 2012. The figure includes up to 187 deaths.
