The Supreme Council of Health (SCH) has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private media company to launch the first comprehensive online health directory in Qatar. The directory will contain classified information about health sector in the country including hospitals, clinics, health centers, laboratories, sports clubs etc, according to Qatari daily (The Peninsula). "The project has been launched in line with the National Development Strategy- 2011- 2016. The directory, the first of its kind in Qatar will be useful to nationals, residents, investors, businessmen, tourists and others," said Jassim Fakhroo, director of communication and media at SCH, who signed the MoU on behalf of SCH. He added that all information would be scrutinized by the SCH before entering in the directory. A website will soon be set up for the project. The directory will also be available in CDs that will be distributed to all ministries and embassies free of charge, Fakhroo noted. He said the NDS had envisaged similar projects focusing education, sports, industry, culture, tourism and other sectors.
