Canadian police found a severed woman's head in eastern Ontario province near Toronto, after earlier retrieving a foot from the same river. Officials at the coroner's office are attempting to determine whether the body parts found in the Credit River belong to the same person, and how old and tall the victim may have been. The nails of the cut-off foot were painted with yellow polish, which suggests the foot belonged to a woman. After the grisly discovery police launched a search in the area to try to find other body parts, but only the head was recovered after 24 hours. Divers and sniffer dogs helped investigators search through Hewick Meadows Park near Toronto. "Without a cause of death, we can't call it homicide, but certainly foul play -- there's definitely something amiss," said acting inspector Randy Cowan of Peel Regional Police. The case brings to mind the "Canadian Psycho," a male ex-porn star suspected of killing a Chinese student with an ice pick in Montreal in May, then carving up the victim's body, sexually abusing the corpse and filming the act, before posting the video online. The suspect in that murder, Luka Rocco Magnotta, is in jail awaiting a trial scheduled for early next year.
