Sierra Leone will confine people to their homes for three days to halt the spread of the Ebola virus, a government spokesman said Sunday, dpa reported.
The lockdown will last from September 19 to 21, Abdulai Baratay told dpa.
"We need to restrict movement for us all to avoid body contact," he said.
Medical teams will go from door to door to trace people with Ebola, according to the spokesman.
"If the government takes this decision, we will not go against it, because they are trying to save people from dying," said Abubakar Koroma, a father.
"But they must provide us with food and medicines if they want us tosta y at home," he added.
