President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday ordered the Armed Forces' Engineering Corps to revamp the National Heart Institute within a month.
Sisi's order came in response to Corps chief's remarks that the process needs at least one year.
The move came in the wake of a surprise visit by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab who was briefed on the suffering of the patients and the bad condition of the hospital.
Sisi also inquired about the reasons behind delay in opening new tumor centers in the various governorates, reiterating the need for accomplishing all health projects to alleviate the suffering of the patients.
