President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday recommended the establishment of an Ebola information center in Cairo under the umbrella of the African Union.
In a speech delivered by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to an African Summit session on Ebola, Sisi asserted that the move would bridge the information gap about Ebola in Africa.
The president stressed that Egypt has a "clear" stance on the Ebola crisis, pointing out that Cairo sees Ebola as a Pan-African crisis that threatens the whole continent and the world not only the affected countries.
He called for rapid and effective action to provide financial and medical support to the countries affected by the epidemic.
