
The Medical Delegation of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society returned home Saturday from Gaza after spending eighteen days there, during which it provided medical and humanitarian aid to the citizens of Gaza, which have been suffering from the atrocious aggression of the so-called Zionist state.
The delegation, which included 12 Sudanese medical surgeons headed by the Cardiologic Consultant and Vice Chancellor of Al-Zaem Al-Azahary University Prof. Mohamed Saied Al-Khalifa, carried out extensive activities welcomed and appreciated by the Palestinians in Gaza in particular and in the whole Palestine in general.
The Rapporteur of the Medical Committee at the People's Campaign for Supporting Gaza's Victims of Israeli Aggression Dr. Majd-Eddin Ahmed Al-Imam, said in statement to SUNA, that the delegation, which was warmly received upon arrival at Khartoum Airport, held urgent meeting at the headquarters of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society with the members of the Sudanese Medical Committee to brief them on the various aspects of the journey.
Dr. Al-Imam announced that the delegation, led By Prof. Al-Khalifa, would hold an inclusive news conference on Sunday 5:00 p.m to brief the Sudanese and Foreign media organs on the activities of the delegation in Gaza including its contribution, observations and humanitarian and medical situations during the trip as well as its future prospects.
SUNA is to recall that the move of the delegation from Khartoum came in response to the call of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Ramallah, basing on the previous participation of the team during the first and second aggressions on Gaza Strip, during which the delegation conducted various surgical operations, which is exactly needed by the medical sector in Gaza at this moment.
Prof. Al-Khalifa referred to the coordination with the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Sudan and Egypt which enabled the medical delegation to arrive in Gaza.
The delegation extended special gratitude to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and its Minister and to all those who extended support and facilitated the travel of the delegation to Gaza.
The Head of Delegation praised cooperation of the Egyptian authorities, representing in the Foreign Ministry through the work of its crew during Eid Al-Fitr vacation to complete the procedures of the delegation travel to Gaza.
Dr. Al-Imam said that the delegation sent a message of thanks and gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, adding that the details of the Egyptian cooperation will be declared in the news conference on Sunday evening.
