Turkish Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu will pay his first formal visit to Greece after he was appointed as minister. Muezzinoglu will visit Athens on Thursday, and Komotini, his birth place, on Friday. He will tour National Health Services Institution, and meet Greek Health Minister Andreas Lykourentzos. Muezzinoglu, who will visit Elpida Children's Hospital, will then proceed to Alexandroupoli. On Friday, Muezzinoglu will separately meet Governor Aristidis Giannakidis of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace region as well as Komotini Mayor Georgios Petridis, and then receive muftis of Komotini and Xanthi. Muezzinoglu, who was born in Kozlukebir village of Komotini on January 9, 1955, arrived in Turkey for education in 1970. He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 1982. He took refuge in Turkey in 1983. Muezzinoglu lived as a stateless in Turkey between 1983 and 1986.
