
Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Health visited Falaj Al Mualla and Al Khazzan Health Centers in Umm Al Qaiwain. Dr. Essa Jakka Al Mansouri, Director, International Organizations was accompanying him. Dr. Al Olama inspected the X-ray department and was briefed about its functioning. He was also informed about the shortage of some equipments and medical staff. He called the center to employ an X-ray and radiographer technicians and update the CT scan machine. He also visited filing and archiving departments, where he emphasised the application of Electronic Filing System. Dr. Al Olama then visited the dental clinic and called for up grading the clinic according to international standards in preparation to obtain the JCI accreditation. He also listened to the requests of the medical and technical staff in terms of their appraisals and promotions reassuring the seriousness of studying and examining their demands through the specialized committees in the ministry. Mr. Al Olama also lauded the efforts of medical, technical and administrative staff in Falaj Al Mualla center noting that the center is qualified to obtain the JCI accreditation by implementing the required procedures and standards. Thus, the ministry also faces several challenges and goals to be achieved in a short span of time. Dr. Mohamed Salim Al Olama during his visit to Al Khazzan Health Center, was received by Dr. Mostafa Taha Al Shabrawi, the center's director who pointed out the need to increase the numbers of doctors and nursing staff, in addition to elevating the laboratories with international standards and qualifications.
