US nurse discharged after Ebola treatment

Amber Vinson, the second nurse to contract Ebola in the United States of America after treating Thomas Eric Duncan in Texas, was discharged from an Atlanta hospital Tuesday after being declared virus-free, the New York Post reported on Wednesday.
Vinson, 29, thanked God, her family and doctors while she was surrounded by her caregivers and relatives during a press conference at Emory University Hospital.
“I’m so grateful to be well,” she read from a statement. “It has been God’s love that has truly carried my family and me through this difficult time and has played such an important role in giving me hope and strength to fight.
The hospital confirmed that she was free of the virus Oct. 24, two days after her family said the virus could not be detected in her blood.
Three people remain in quarantine in Ohio and 163 are being monitored for symptoms after her trip to visit her family and plan her wedding.
