
An Egyptian man has been killed in clashes between armed militants and armed forces at a checkpoint in Arish. Locals said 30-year-old Raed Gomaa Salama was shot in the chest as he was driving through the al-Kharouba checkpoint in Sheikh Zuweid. His body was transported ?to Arish public hospital.? A soldier, named as 24-year-old Ibrahim Mohamed Salama, was shot in the right leg during the same incident and transferred to hospital. Meanwhile, armed men attacked two other checkpoints injuring an officer and a soldier. Security sources said that gunmen attacked the Abu Tawela checkpoint in Sheikh Zuweid, injuring 23-year-old Hossam Ahmed Mohamed Desouky. Gunmen also opened fire on al-Mazraa checkpoint in Arish, injuring soldier Hesham Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
