
Twenty Huthi militants were killed today in an attack waged by troops loyal to Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in the southern Yemeni governorate of Lahej.
Security sources said troops loyal to President Hadi launched an offensive against Huthi militants' military convoy in the town of Houta killing two militants and wounding several others. A number of military machineries were also destroyed in the attack.
The sources said the convoy was on its way to the neighbouring governorate of Aden, with the aim of strengthening positions of Huthi militants who have suffered heavy losses.
In another development warplanes participating in the operation 'Determination Storm' today waged 15 raids on military positions belonging to Huthis in Abyan governorate in Sothern Yemen.
Military sources said a number of Huthi militants were killed and wounded and military vehicles were destroyed in strikes that targeted military positions belonging to Huthi militants in the directorate of Lodar. Columns of smoke were seen rising and powerful explosions were also heard in those positions.
In Abyan, violent clashes that raged between Huthi militants and troops loyal to President Hadi resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides.
In the same context warplanes participating in the operation 'Determination Storm' waged massive air raids in a camp of militants loyal to the Huthis and ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh in the directorate of Arhab, north of the capital Sanaa.
Yemeni military sources said warplanes launched four raids on Al Sama camp of militants loyal to the Huthis and deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
