5 Salafist prisoners released in Mauritania

Mauritanian security authorities released five Salafist prisoners on Monday. The men were accused of affiliating with extremist groups in the region. Judicial sources told Arab Today that the defendants had been successful in their appeals. The detained were named locally as al-Tigani Walad Sayedna Shafiq, Ibrahim Walad Zoghman, Ahmed Salem al-Hassan, and Ahmed Salem al-Dah.
