Security forces in the Algerian town of Adrar have arrested a gang of seven people involved in producing counterfeit money and official documents. The raids came after forces were alerted to the circulation of forged banknotes in Adrar and surrounding areas. Arrests were made in residential areas and a shop for online services in the Alhtabh district. There were three female gang members among the seven people arrested, aged between 22 and 41 years. Security force also seized forged banknotes, 14 hard drives, memory sticks and an office printer, as well as certificates and official documents ready to be forged. Meanwhile, ten Moroccans were arrested in Tindouf, southwest Algeria, for attempting to smuggle large quantities of drugs into the country. According to reports, 17 quintals of drugs were confiscated in the border region of Hassi Hebei. Security forces said the drugs were found among a convoy of camels. The Moroccans claim they were purchased from Moroccan territory, and were not for the domestic market in Algeria.
