Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Arabi met, Thursday Burhan Ghalioun, head of Syrian National Council opposition movement, while in Cairo. According to the Arab League statement, they discussed the situations in Syria with the Arab League monitoring mission, which arrived to Syria and started its activities. The meeting also included discussing the Syrian opposition forum, which will be hosted by the Arab League on January 2012. In another context, the Arab League warns, in a statement, Thursday, of the Israeli policy in Jerusalem, after Israel’s approval of the construction of 130 new homes in illegal settlements east of the city. The statement also denounced the Israeli Knesset for its intention to discuss a proposal calling for declaring the occupied Palestinian city of Jerusalem as a capital of Israel and the Jewish people.
