Algeria will participate in the 20th African Union Conference on January 27 and 28, with Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal representing President Abdelaziz Bouteflika at the meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The conference, which aims to bring together heads of state from across the continent, will study “African solidarity and Africa’s renaissance” as well as recent challenges to peace, security and development, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office. The statement added that Prime Minister Sellal will also participate in the African Union’s January 25 Peace and Security Council [PSC] event, devoted to the ongoing crisis in Mali.
