Algeria's interior ministry has given the country's ruling party, the National Liberation Front, (FLN) the green light to hold its internal election on August 29 and 30. The party will elect its new secretary-general after withdrawing confidence from former leader Abdelaziz Belkhadem. The former president of the parliamentary group Taher Khaoh, told Arab Today, on Wednesday that the party will hold a meeting next Monday to appoint committee members who will be in charge of nominating the party’s representative. Meanwhile, sources from the ruling party said the parliamentary bloc will call on President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to run for presidential elections for a fourth term.
