Lebanese President Michel Sleiman met with former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, on Thursday to discuss the current upset in Egypt, the deteriorating situation in Syria and the Arab region in general. The pair explored the current efforts taking place to restore peace to the region, as well as possible solutions to end the bloodshed in Syria. They emphasised the importance of cooperation between Arab countries to assist Syrian refugees. Moussa also met with Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament and former Prime Minister Najib Mikati. The Egyptian politician expressed that it is necessary to hold regular consultations about the on-going conflicts in Syria and Palestine so a peaceful solution can be agreed upon. Moussa also visited the new Lebanese Prime Minister, Tamam Salam, to the meeting. He conveyed his pleasure at meeting Salam, adding that they discussed the situation in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. The politicians also discussed the threats that the region faces as a whole.
