At the request of the State of Kuwait, the Arab League Council will hold on Tuesday an extraordinary session at the level of permanent delegates to discuss the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
Kuwait's Delegate to the Arab League, Ambassador Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Bakr said in press statements that the meeting date was determined following consultations conducted by the Arab League Council's Presidency in Tunisia, the General Secretariat in Cairo and State of Kuwait with Arab countries, adding that Kuwait's request was backed by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, the UAE and Bahrain.
He also said the council was expected to consider the deteriorating situation in Aleppo due to indiscriminate aerial bombardment of civilians with barrel bombs and the siege.
He added that the Arab stakeholders would appeal to the international community and humanitarian organizations to provide aid to the besieged people of Aleppo.
