The Arab League (AL) Council renewed its pledge to preserve Yemen's territorial integrity and respect its sovereignty and independence.
The AL Council also said that it is totally against interference in Yemen's internal affairs or imposing a fait accompli by force.
In a statement issued on Yemen situation at the end of a consultative meeting at the permanent delegates' level on Wednesday, the Council urged all Yemeni political forces to respect peaceful solution to the crisis and return to the negotiating table.
It also called for providing the appropriate atmosphere to complete the implementation of Gulf Cooperation Council's initiative.
The AL council further urged the pan-Arab body's chief to continue consultations and contacts with the Arab foreign ministers to set a date for holding the AL council at the ministerial level as soon as possible.
The Houthis seized Sanaa last September before tightening their grip and prompting Yemeni President Abdrabu Mansur Hadi to tender his resignation.
The Houthi advance has also strengthened the country’s Al Qaeda branch.
Earlier this month, the Houthi leadership issued a "constitutional declaration" dissolving parliament and establishing a 551-member "transitional council."
The AL has previously accused the Houthis of carrying out a “coup” when it ousted the government of the Yemeni president.
