
Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, has lauded the initiative of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), to set up a camp for Syrian refugees in Greece, in implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the support of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and the follow-up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and ERC Chairman.
Al Jarwan extended thanks and appreciation on behalf of the Arab people to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for this humanitarian and brotherly gesture, which came at the appropriate juncture in light of the dire conditions of the Syrian refugees from the continuing crises and the increase in their numbers.
He also said that the Arab Parliament praised such steps and actions for the refugees. He also called upon the rest of the Arab countries and the world to take similar steps, which would contribute to protecting and providing relief to these refugees and others in the Arab world and elsewhere, for the benefit of all peoples across the world.
