
Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the Federal Transport Authority - Land and Maritime, today issued a decision on the implementation of the requirements of the International Convention on Load Lines of 1966, as amended.
According to the resolution, no ship shall be allowed to sail on international trips unless subjected to inspection, marked, and awarded an international certificate of load lines for the year (1966), or an international exemption certificate for load lines according to the provisions of the Convention.
It adds that any vessel under the provisions of this resolution shall have its minimum load specified under Annexure No. requirements (I) of the Convention.
The provisions of this resolution and the requirements of the Convention shall be applicable to all ships at ports or territorial waters of the UAE or operating in the state.
