Former Judge Daniel A. Bellemare, the Prosecutor of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), left Beirut on Saturday morning, heading to Paris after a long farewell visit to Lebanon, during which he met a number of senior state officials. In the meantime, "Al Gomhouria Newspaper" revealed that the Prime Minister Najib Mikati asked him in his last meeting to postpone the expected indictments, saying that he "heard that there is an indictment of bombing the minister Elias Murr , which will be issued soon. I hope that they will be postponed until I am able to pass the Court's Protocol". According to Al Gomhouria, Bellemare replied "I can neither politicise the investigation nor link it to any other subject. For this reason I apologise for not answering fully to your questions. I'm compelled to send the indictments to Judge Francine, who has the right to announce whatever he wants. As for me, I cannot postpone any indictment decision for the moment."
