The death toll from clashes between Libyan government troops and a militia in Benghazi rose to five soldiers, said a spokesman for the Libyan army.
Four soldiers were injured in the fighting, said Meloud el Zaoui.
The fight is continuing in Leithy and Bou Atny areas, said the spokesman.
He did not say if casualties occurred among Shura Council of Revolutionaries militia.
After the fall of dictator Muammar al-Gaddafi's regime in 2011, Libya now has two parliaments and two governments vying for power, one based in Tripoli and one in Tobruk in the east.
