
The Republic of Congo and Cameroon have agreed to build a Congo-Cameroon Inter-state University in Brazzaville in a bid to promote regional integration in Central Africa.
The university which will have Cameroonian and Congolese students, is expected to start academic operations during the next academic year that will begin between October and November, authorities from both countries said.
In this regard, Republic of Congo's Higher Education Minister Bruno Jean Richard Itoua and Cameroon's ambassador to Congo Hamidou Komidor Njimoluh met on Aug. 4 in Brazzaville to review the progress of the project.
"In the coming days, experts will finalize their work and present documents to both governments. The university will have students from both countries," the Congolese minister said.
Cameroon's ambassador revealed that preparatory work for the launch of the university will be completed before the end of this academic year between September and October.
