Egypt army in fresh Gaza tunnels crackdown

Egypt's military has launched a fresh campaign to destroy tunnels across its border with the Gaza Strip, security sources confirmed. Witnesses told Arab Today that a number of armoured vehicles moved into the area on Wednesday morning, with soldiers raiding tunnels used to smuggle food and fuel into Gaza. They added that the sound of gunfire was heard near the central security sector in al-Ahrash, Rafah. Residents is Rafah said the military's latest campaign to crackdown on smuggling has been the most effective operation in recent month. In the past, the military targeted pumps used to smuggle fuel to the Gaza Strip.
