Egypt regains control of smuggling tunnel

The Egyptian army revealed that elements of the borders guards in the Egyptian city of Rafah have regained control of 23 slots in the tunnel that connects the Gaza Strip and Egypt. The army announced on its page on Facebook on Monday that they have seized large amounts of commodities that were prepared to be smuggled through the tunnel. The statement said that the practice of smuggling contraband to Gaza aims to undermine the stability of the Egyptian community and to harm the country’s national security.
