Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Forces' (SCAF) Advisory Council has called to stop storming the offices of human rights and pro-democracy groups, and return all property. It also called to start immediate dialogue between the SCAF and the NGOs. “The Advisory Council expressed deep concern that security forces stormed a number of offices of human rights and pro-democracy groups, and closed them,” a statement issued by the council, on Saturday said. The statement added that what happened during the last two days, by raiding those organizations was in a framework of “a controversial law”, which conflicts with the International agreements on protecting the human rights organizations. It’s worth mentioning that Egypt’s Ministry of Justice accused a number of non-profit groups of receiving “unauthorized” foreign funding and using the money for protests, while the Interior Ministry said the raids on non-profit organizations were part of the investigation into foreign funding of rights groups.
