
H.H. the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, has discussed with US President Barack Obama a number of regional and international issues, including international efforts to combat terrorism.
At the meeting, held ahead of the GCC- US summit which will begin today, the two sides addressed cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the United States of America as well as the prospects for advancing them in all fields, according to the Qatar News Agency, QNA.
They also discussed the latest developments in the Middle East, especially in Yemen, Libya, and Syria, exchanging views on them, and reviewed the two countries' firm positions with regards to the renunciation of violence, extremism and terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The leaders stressed the importance of continuing and strengthening international efforts to combat these phenomena and scourges.
