The official spokesman of UNIFIL Andre Tennenti has announced that the families of the Lebanese kidnapped citizens in Syria have organised peaceful demonstrations in front of the Turkish unit headquarter in South Lebanon. He added: "We hope that the kidnapped are released without any delay in time and we welcome all exerted Lebanese efforts." Tennenti also mentioned the spread of UNIFIL and its missions to support Lebanese authority, particularly the Lebanese military troops, in order to keep peace and stability in South Lebanon. He said: "All UNIFIL troops coming from 37 different states are working hard and implementing the Security Council resolution number 1701, regardless of their nationalities. All units are working under the general leadership of the UNIFIL, as the general leadership is working for United Nations and is responsible front of the UN secretary General."
