The targeting of the UAE civilian ship 'Swift' by Houthis is part of a "systemic aggression" and "premeditated escalation" that aim to jump over and undermine any political solution to the Yemeni crisis, said UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, said.
In comments posted via his Twitter account and carried by the official WAM news agency, Gargash said the Houthis' escalation is an attempt to avoid the political track. "We will see more attempts by the Houthis to wreck opportunities for political solution. In the rebellion's logic, the nation's interest comes second to the group's interest. "The Houthis do not want to announce in public their rejection of the international will, and instead, they resort to escalation," he added.
